Rollwaling Valley Trekking Overview
The Rollwaling Valley Trekking via Tashi Lapcha Pass is one of Nepal's finest off the beaten path adventures in Nepal. Rollwaling trekking is situated between the Langtang range and the Everest region. This rugged trail is perfect for experienced trekkers looking for a true wilderness experience.
The journey begins with a scenic drive to Gonger Bazar before ascending through deep valleys, pristine forests, and traditional Sherpa villages.
As you climb higher, you will encounter the breathtaking Tso Rolpa Glacier Lake. The true highlight of this trek is crossing the challenging Tashi Lapcha Pass (5,755m), which requires basic mountaineering skills, specialized gear, and an experienced guide due to the rocky, icy terrain. After successfully crossing the pass, the trail seamlessly joins the regular Everest Base Camp route, leading you down through Namche Bazaar to Lukla.
At Alpine Asian Treks and Expedition, we provide highly experienced mountain guides and top-quality service to ensure your safety and success on this magnificent Himalayan adventure.
Best time to Rollwaling Valley Trekking
Best Season: The ideal months for this trek are March to April (Spring) and October to November (Autumn). During these periods, the weather is stable, skies are clear, and the pass is usually safe to cross. Winters are extremely cold and blocked by heavy snow, while summers bring heavy monsoon rains.
Trekking Guides: This trek requires serious mountaineering expertise. Alpine Asian Treks provides highly trained, licensed Sherpa guides who have extensive previous experience crossing the Tashi Lapcha Pass and possess deep knowledge of safety protocols and high-altitude wilderness first aid.
Guesthouse and meal: The accommodation in the Rolwaling Valley is very basic and simple compared to the highly developed Annapurna or Everest trails. Most teahouses offer twin sharing rooms with shared outdoor bathrooms. There is no electricity in the upper villages. Furthermore, at least 3 nights of full tent camping are mandatory near the high pass, where our crew will provide top-quality tents and fresh meals.
