How safe is Jalbire Canyoning
Before diving into the excitement of canyoning, our guides will provide a personal safety briefing and familiarize you with the canyons. You'll be equipped with safety gear including harnesses, figure 8 devices, karabiners, helmets, wet suits, special shoes, pads, and safety jackets. Weather conditions are carefully monitored for your safety, and you'll receive basic weather information before departure. While descending, you and your guide will ensure no animals are obstructing your path. Canyoning routes can vary from easy to extremely challenging, but the emphasis is always on aesthetics and enjoyment rather than sheer difficulty. Canyoning spots found worldwide, people of all ages and skill levels can enjoy this thrilling activity.
Where is Jalbire Canoning in Nepal
Jalbire, also known as Lamo Jharana, is approximately 100km from Kathmandu, accessible in about 3 hours by private car or jeep. Situated near the Trishuli river and easily accessible from the road, it's a short walk to the starting point. The canyoning experience, including hiking, abseiling, and lunch, typically lasts about 4 hours. Afterward, change into dry clothes, enjoy lunch, and continue your journey to your next destination or back to Kathmandu.
Jalbire offers around 10 falls, with 3 major sections featuring 25m falls. The best time for canyoning is from October to April, avoiding the pre-monsoon season in May and the rainy season from June to September when water volume may be high, making it more challenging.

Canyoning is a adventure sport with fun filled and also full of risk. You are advised to wear a proper gear for safety and pleasure. We will provide technical equipment including rope, figure 8, Karabinner, helmet, wetsuit, special shoes, pad and safety jacket. You have to bring your won change cloth with you.
Meal:
bread, butter, egg, salad, apple, banana, juice, cheese, backed beans, tuna etc.
Guide: You will have a fully experienced and technically knowledgeable guide with English command.
Best Season:
Spring and Autumn and the best time whereas, the rainy season and winter are not considered best.
Payment:
We will require a 25% advance payment to make a reservation and full payment should be down before the day trip start.

Frequently Asked Questions
Trekking guide will have the license from Nepal government after the completion the formal training. Our trekking guide has the long experience to Annapurna Base Camp. He speaks English and keeps knowledge about High Altitude mountain sickness, first aid, Annapurna Mountain and its history, people and culture. We will provide a porter (helper to carry the luggage) with warm clothing’s while going to the high mountain. Our company will give priority to the local porter as much as they are available. Porter can speak little English but they are friendly and honest.
There are limited medical facilities in the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking trail. We recommend to our trekkers to bring their own medicine (a headache, stomach ache, painkiller, Diamox, bandage, iodine, cotton, gauze, handy place, common cold, diarrhea, and scissor). Do not expect doctor or medical clinic in the upper section.
We will accommodate you in nice and tiny guest houses in the Annapurna Base Camp trek. The guest houses are also known as the tea house. You have will your own room (twin sharing) but the bathroom is sharing. The guest houses are safe and are friendly. Your guide and porter will have their own room. From Deurali to ABC there are limited guest houses. In a busy season, you may have to share with more than 2 people in 1 room. The general understanding in trekking is sleep and eat at the same guest house. You will be served freshly cooked food. All the guest house have a standard menu with the fixed price which is set by the Local Lodge Management Committee. You can choose your meal from the menu.
There is electricity supply until the Annapurna Base Camp. There may have some power cut schedule in the winter season. Generally, they will ask you to pay extra for charging. Nepal has 220-volt power system. The power sockets are 2pin, 3 pins both are ok. Most of the guest houses offer paid internet services but upper section has no good reception for internet. For your convenient, you can buy a local SIM card in Kathmandu and buy an internet package.
Trekking in Nepal is safe. There is no life-threatening in Annapurna region from human but precaution is always advised. If you require an emergency lift up from the mountain we can send the helicopter from Kathmandu or Pokhara. The price of the Heli charter is per hour basis. That should be paid by yourself or by your insurance. You may buy a insurance which includes emergency evacuation (search and rescue).

- Thick, warm wool hiking socks and lightweight inner socks
- Lightweight cotton long pants
- Light and expedition weight thermal bottoms
- Fleece or wool pants
- Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell pants

- Good -20 Sleeping bag (can be rented or buy in Kathmandu or in Pokhara)
- A comfortable day pack, preferably with a waistband.

Please bring a prmanent water bottle to refill the boiled water or to put iodine tablets to purify the water, rubbish bag to bring the rubbish till the lodge or to the right place and etc.
Himalayas are very fargile. We cant predict the weather condition. Our business is to take care of you in trekking. We give first priourity to your safety while in trekking. If the weather condition is very bad or you are seriously injured or sick, your leader will have a authority to amend or cancel the rest of the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.
