very happy and satisfied

In short, I was very happy and satisfied with their friendly and professional service and support during my trip of Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek and Island Peak Climbing. Since I have been dreaming about trekking and climbing in Nepal for many years. Finding the right people to help me turn my dream to reality was of utmost importance needless to say. So they were very responsive and efficient in terms of organizing and running the itinerary. And also very friendly and courteous.

Thank you all the staff @ AATE. For helping me live the dream for other trekking plans. I have in mind in the upcoming season. I will never hesitate to go with AATE again and definitely recommend them to my family and all other acquaintances who wish to trek in Nepal.

God Bless

An unforgettable journey through the Himalayas

“An unforgettable journey through the Himalayas!”

We heard about Shekhar and Alpine Asian Treks from a friend in South Africa that had a trek with them. Everything we heard was true. Shekhar was very organized, professional and helpful and make an extra effort to make us feel welcome and looked after. He took us out for dinner when we arrived. He also managed to get us onto a flight to Lukla when most flights were delayed with a huge backlog. We had a great city tour with a knowledgeable and friendly guide.

Our Everest base camp guide, Binod was also very friendly and helpful and went out of his was to make our trip comfortable and enjoyable (like hot showers!), singing to us, playing cards + organizing rooms + food etc. We will remember him fondly for many years.

Thank you for an unforgettable journey through the Himalayas that will be part of our souls forever

Travel Infos

Responsible Travel & Tipping

Eco-Friendly Trekking: We practice strict "Leave No Trace" tourism.

Tipping Your Crew: Tipping is a great way to thank your guide and porters. We recommend budgeting roughly 10% to 15% of your total trek cost.

Daily Life, Money, and Connectivity

Electricity & Charging: Most teahouses have electricity. You can charge phones and camera batteries in the communal dining halls for a small local fee (usually two to five US dollars).

Internet / Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi cards (such as Airalo, Ncell, or Everest Link) can be purchased on the trail.

Local Currency: Please carry enough cash in Nepalese Rupees or also there are ATMs in Lukla and Namche Bazaar.

Lukla Flight Contingencies & Weather

The flight between Kathmandu and Lukla is a spectacular mountain journey, but it relies entirely on visual flight conditions.

Delays & Cancellations: Weather in the Himalayas changes rapidly. High winds, dense fog, or low cloud cover can cause domestic flights to be delayed or cancelled for hours or even days.

Buffer Days: We recommend adding 1 extra contingency days at the very end of your international vacation in case of Lukla flight delays.

Helicopter Option: If planes are grounded, by paying extra cost you can fly by helicopter.

High Altitude Safety & Acclimatization

Safety is our top priority. The maximum altitude on this trek is 5,550 meters (18,192 ft) at the summit of Kala Patthar.

The Rule of Elevation: Our itinerary is designed with built-in acclimatization stops at Namche Bazaar (3,440m). This gradual ascent allows your body to safely adapt to lower oxygen levels.

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS): Mild symptoms like a slight headache or loss of appetite are common above 3,500m. Your trekking guide is aware of altitude symptom detection.

Hydration & Pace: You will be advised to walk slowly (bistari, bistari) and drink at least 3 to 4 liters of water daily.

Emergency Evacuation: In the severe altitude sickness or medical emergency, we will contact your insuurance and operate emergency helicopter evacuation.
