Langtang Valley Trekking Overview

Langtang valley trekking, 8 days’  starts and end in Kathmandu. Ride a Jeep to and from the starting point (Syabrubesi). The last village is Kynjin Gumpa 3800m. The view point Tserko Ri 5500m, an hour and half hiking from Kynjin Gumpa.

Cultural Langtang Valley Trekking

Langtang trekking offers a unique Tamang culture and heritage (Tibetan influence). The trail passes through the villages, forest and along the riverside. Langtang national park is rich in biodiversity. You may encounter with wild animals (musk deer, snow leopard, langur, and red panda), birds and other creatures. You will be passing through the Mani Wall, Chortens and old Gumpas as well as.

Meal and accommodation in Langtang Valley trekking

The Langtang trekking area offers good guesthouse accommodations and delicious and hygienic food along the trekking route. Generally, you will have your own room and the bathroom will be outside.  The food would be served in a warm dining hall where all guests in the house get together and share their ideas and experiences.

Trekking to the Langtang area is open all around the year. The best seasons are Spring and Autumn whereas the winter is also full of fun with snow. Spring will have a full blossom of Rhododendrons with a clear sky. June and July are also popular for high mountain flowers like Blue Puppy.

Langtang Valley trekking can be combined with the following trails

Tamang Heritage Trekking (Cultural trek), which starts from Syabrubesi, is an excellent trek . It is an easy-going route through authentic villages that offer a homestay program in traditional homes. There are great views of mountains in Tibet, Langtang and Ganesh Himals, set against rhododendron forests. The trek can be done for 5 days to 7 days which continue to Rusuagadi (Nepal Tibet border). Langtang trek can be combine to Gosain Kunda (holy lake) pass trek. You have to come down to Syabrubesi and continue to east wards. The highest pass is 4600m. It would take another extra a week. Please inquire for more details.

Naya Kanga Climbing It is also known as Gangala Peak 5863m. It is a rock and ice mixed technical climbing with excellent view to Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal. It is a short climbing from Kathmandu and few days’ push from Kynjin Gumpa. Please inquire for more details.

Yala Peak Climbing,  A 5500m high easy peak gives a climbing experience to beginners. You will require full climbing gears for your safety, It has an excellent view to Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Sishapangma etc. It is an extra few day extension from Kynjin Gumpa. Please inquire for more details.
