Mountain And Monastery Trek Overview
The Mountain and Monastery Trek is a beautiful journey into the heart of the Khumbu (Everest) region, designed for travelers who want to experience both the giant Himalayas and the rich spiritual culture of the Sherpa people.
The high-altitude valleys of Nepal are home to Tibetan Buddhist communities who deeply love their traditions. Along the trail, you will walk pasing colorful prayer flags, sacred Mani walls, and ancient Chortens. A major highlight of this trip is visiting the centuries-old Tengboche Monastery, where you can observe the peaceful daily life and spiritual rituals of the local monks.
Set against a breathtaking backdrop of the world's highest peaks including Mount Everest (8,848m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), Lhotse (8,501m), and Nuptse (7,879m) this trek offers a perfect mix of cultural discovery and mountain adventure. Witnessing traditional yak caravans carrying loads along the trail makes this an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day to Day Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu & Welcome Dinner
Welcome to Nepal! Our representative will greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in the city center via private vehicle. Enjoy a relaxing evening exploring the lively streets. In the evening, Alpine Asian Treks will host a traditional Nepali welcome dinner with cultural performances.

Kathmandu Guided Sightseeing & Trek Briefing
After breakfast, enjoy a private guided tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Patan Durbar Square. Later, visit our office to finalize formalities, meet your trekking guide, and receive your official trip briefing.
Domestic Flight to Lukla & Trek to Phakding
Take an early morning transfer to the domestic airport for a scenic 45-minute flight to Lukla. After landing, meet your porters and enjoy a warm tea break. We then begin our trek with a gentle 4-hour walk along the Dudh Koshi river to Phakding village.

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
We hit the trail at 8:00 AM after breakfast. The route crosses several high suspension bridges before a final, steep climb up to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa capital. From Namche, enjoy your first incredible views of Kongde, Thamserku, and Kusum Kangru.

Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (Hike to Syangboche)
A restful day to let your body adjust to the altitude. We take a scenic morning hike up to Syangboche for a spectacular panorama of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. You can also visit Khumjung village to explore the Sherpa culture and the first school built by Sir Edmund Hillary.

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche Monastery
Following breakfast, we follow a beautiful trail with sweeping mountain views before descending to the river. After lunch, a steady climb through rhododendron forests brings us to Tengboche. In the afternoon, we visit the famous ancient monastery to observe the monks performing their spiritual rituals.

Trek from Tengboche down to Monjo
We begin our descent back down the valley, tracing our steps through the forests and riverside trails. We pass back through Namche Bazaar and walk down to the peaceful village of Monjo, located just outside the Sagarmatha National Park entry gate.

Trek from Monjo back to Lukla
Our final day on the trekking trail. We follow the Dudh Koshi river back to Lukla, passing through local farming villages. In the evening, enjoy a celebratory farewell dinner with your guiding team, and optionally visit a local pub to toast your successful journey.

Fly from Lukla back to Kathmandu
Bid farewell to the Everest region as you board an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy a completely free afternoon for resting, last-minute souvenir shopping, or exploring the city at your own pace.

Private Airport Transfer & Departure
Your wonderful Himalayan holiday comes to an end. At the appropriate time according to your flight schedule, our private vehicle will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure flight back home. Have a safe journey!
